چکیده

This paper proposed a new filtering technique to reduce noise in Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) interferometric phase images. A general multiple-filter structure is described which involves the use of multiple filters to eliminate noise from the original signal and reintroduce some of the details that are lost during this process back into the signal. Both simulated and real data is used in the experiment. The results obtained using this technique shows that the performance of this proposed filtering technique is better than other widely used filtering techniques for interferograms when compared with the number of residues and evaluated against ground truth.

Speckle Noise Reduction for the Enhancement of Retinal Layers in Optical Coherence Tomography Images

Introduction One of the most important pre-processing steps in optical coherence tomography (OCT) is reducing speckle noise, resulting from multiple scattering of tissues, which degrades the quality of OCT images. Materials and Methods The present study focused on speckle noise reduction and edge detection techniques. Statistical filters with different masks and noise variances were applied on ...

Mitigation of Tropospheric Delay on InSAR Interseismic Displacements

One of the major challenges of Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) technique is the existence of tropospheric effect on the results. The tropospheric effect is due to the changes of atmospheric parameters including temperature, pressure, and humidity between the master and slave images. In this research, two different methods based on spatial-temporal filters and calculation of pha...

Filtering of InSAR interferograms

ABSTRACT: Radar is gaining increasing credibility as a technique for rapid and accurate topographic mapping. Precision and accuracy of elevation and ground displacement assessed from Interferometry SAR (InSAR) depend essentially on phase difference or interferogram quality. The phase noise degrades the visual quality of the interferogram and increases the error in phase unwrapping results. Many...

Comparisons of Speckle Noise Filtering Methods on Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar Images

Speckle noise in interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR) phase images seriously degrades the quality of interferogram, disenables interferogram to reflect accurate phase characteristics of the target and increases the difficulty in extracting DEM information of the target area. Therefore, reducing speckle noise by interferogram filtering is a significant step in InSAR processing. First...

Speckle Reduction in Synthetic Aperture Radar Images in Wavelet Domain Exploiting Intra-scale and Inter-scale Dependencies

Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) images are inherently affected by a multiplicative noise-like phenomenon called speckle, which is indeed the nature of all coherent systems. Speckle decreases the performance of almost all the information extraction methods such as classification, segmentation, and change detection, therefore speckle must be suppressed. Despeckling can be applied by the multilooki...
